'The Village' by Scalabrini

A new build in Drummoyne, it is a first in Australia designed with a new method of caring for people with dementia. Based on the successful Hogeweyk village in Holland, The Village by Scalabrini is built around a central Italian piazza with a fountain in the centre. The village is made up of a collection of casa’s (houses) where residents can participate and feel like they are in their own homes.  This feeling of belonging promotes calm & peacefulness.

Residents are welcome to roam, chatting and soaking up the sun in the piazza.  Visit the general store & trattoria with relatives & friends for wood fired pizza, finished off with a gelato and coffee.

Crown Furniture were honoured to work closely with the The Village to recommend fit for purpose furniture that helps facilitate the feeling of being at home for the residents and community spaces for visitors.

Our new smartly designed Grande lounge is central in the lounge, and the Montcello dining table promotes social interaction at meal times. Stretton single lounges and Zecca & Mialla dining furniture bring the trattoria to life.
